Our support

What we can do now, and what follows registration.

This page is split in two on purpose. The first half is support you can arrange this week, because none of it needs a CQC registration. The second half is regulated care, and every item in it waits for the day our registration is granted — clearly labelled, never blurred.

Available now

Support you can arrange this week.

Everything here sits outside regulated activity. It can be arranged seven days a week, subject to assessment, availability and agreement, and it starts once we have met you and written the plan together.

Companionship

Loneliness does as much damage as anything on a care plan. Companionship visits are regular, unhurried time with the same person: conversation, a game of cards, a walk, help with a hobby, or simply company with the television on. Visits are planned around the person's routine, not a rota, and the aim is that they look forward to the knock on the door.

Available now

Shopping and errands

The weekly shop done with the person or for them, prescriptions collected, parcels posted, library books returned, and the dozen small errands that quietly pile up when getting out is difficult. Where the person wants to come along, the errand becomes the outing.

Available now

Help around the home

Meal preparation, laundry, washing up, changing beds and keeping things clean and tidy. Not a deep-cleaning service — practical, everyday housekeeping that keeps the house somewhere it is safe and pleasant to be, done with the person wherever they want to be involved.

Available now

Getting out and about

Transport and accompaniment to appointments, the community centre, church, the shops or the coast, with company on the way there and the way back. For many people this is the difference between a life at home and a life stuck in the house.

Available now

Paperwork and admin

Letters read and answered, forms filled in, bills sorted, appointments booked and phone calls made. Paperwork causes more quiet worry than almost anything else, and an hour a week on top of it removes most of that worry.

Available now

A break for the family

A planned sitting service so the family member who normally does everything can go to work, sleep properly, keep an appointment of their own, or have an afternoon that belongs to them — knowing someone reliable is with their relative in the meantime. Available where the agreed support does not involve personal care or another regulated activity.

Available now

Medication prompts and reminders

We currently offer medication prompts and reminders only. Hands-on medication administration will not form part of our service until our CQC registration is granted and the appropriate medication governance is in place.

Available now

The second half

Regulated care, once our CQC registration is granted.

These services involve regulated activity. Providers carrying it on in England generally need to be registered with CQC unless a specific legal exception or exemption applies. We are preparing our registration application, and until it is granted none of this is available from us.

Available following CQC registration

Personal care

Washing, dressing, continence support, help with moving safely and support with medication. Personal care is a regulated activity, which means we are not permitted to deliver it until the Care Quality Commission grants our registration, and we will not.

Available following CQC registration

Live-in support involving personal care

A support worker living in the home, so someone is there through the day and overnight. Where the package involves personal care it is regulated activity, and it begins only once our registration is granted.

Available following CQC registration

Complex NHS-funded care packages

Packages funded by the NHS for people with complex health needs. These involve regulated activity and will be taken on only after registration, and only where funding, staffing and governance are confirmed first.

Available following CQC registration

ICB and Continuing Healthcare packages involving regulated activity

Packages commissioned by an Integrated Care Board or funded through NHS Continuing Healthcare where the support involves regulated activity. Available following CQC registration, with the same rule: funding, staffing and governance confirmed before anyone starts.

Where our registration stands today

What it costs

Priced after we have met you, in writing.

We do not publish fixed hourly rates. Pricing is confirmed after an initial discussion and a free home visit, once we have understood what support is actually needed. The agreed figure covers travel between visits, the written support plan and risk assessment, and reviews as things change — and it is held for the length of an agreement, with any change put in writing well before it takes effect.

The four ways support is funded

How it starts

One phone call, one home visit, one written plan.

01

You ring, and David answers

Tell him what is going on and he will tell you honestly whether we are the right people, including when the answer is no.

02

A free visit at home

With whoever the person wants in the room. We agree what support looks like, when it happens and who provides it, and you get the plan and the price in writing.

03

Support starts

Consistent people at consistent times. We review as things change, and David stays the person you ring.
