Before we introduce anyone, we screen them and carry out the checks listed below, proportionate to the role and the relevant legal requirements.

What our checks cover
Our checks are proportionate to the role and to the relevant legal requirements. They include:
- Identity verification
- Appropriate criminal-record and safeguarding checks for each UK nation
- Right to work
- References
- Relevant experience and training
- Insurance, where applicable
- Suitability, considered against the person's support needs
No screening process can guarantee that an individual is suitable, or remove every safeguarding risk. The choice of carer or personal assistant is always yours.
How it works

Make an initial enquiry
Email or call us and tell us about the person, the support they are looking for and what matters to them in a carer.

We introduce suitable carers
We source, screen and check self-employed carers or personal assistants, and introduce those who suit the person's needs and preferences.

You choose, and agree arrangements directly
You select the carer or personal assistant you prefer. The two of you agree payment and working arrangements between you, and you organise your support and manage the relationship from there.

What we do

- Right Support North East operates solely as an introductory agency, connecting individuals and families with independent personal assistants. Responsibility for selecting, engaging, paying, directing and managing personal assistants remains with the client or their authorised representative. RSNE does not supervise, manage or coordinate the delivery of care and support.

What we do not do
Under this service, Right Support North East does not:
- Employ the carers or personal assistants we introduce
- Manage their day-to-day duties
- Direct personal care
- Arrange ongoing rotas
- Supervise the delivery of regulated activities
Employment status
The employment status of each arrangement is determined by the actual working relationship between you and your carer or personal assistant, not by how the arrangement is described.
Regulated personal care
The Carer & PA Introductory Agency is separate from CQC-regulated personal care services. Right Support North East is preparing its CQC registration application, but the introductory agency operates separately and does not itself provide or manage regulated personal care.

- We welcome enquiries from privately funded clients and from people using direct payments.
- Our fee
- Our introduction fee is discussed at enquiry and confirmed in writing before we proceed.
- Your carer's charges
- These are separate from our fee. They are agreed between you and the carer or personal assistant you choose.
- Where we cover
- The Carer & PA Introductory Agency covers the whole of England, Scotland and Wales.
